Q & A WITH MODEL GRACE GARDINER

Posted on

For our last look book shoot (for Spring 2017, what?!) we worked with photographer Jackie Barr and model Grace Gardiner. This blonde beauty from a small town is working with some incredible photographers and creating amazing art. Expect to see her a lot more often—not just on our page, but other places, too!

SOCIAL DECAY: Where were you raised, and what were you like growing up?
GRACE GARDINER:I grew up in a very small town in South Jersey. I was pretty shy growing up because I was super tall and awkward looking, but once I got to high school I started going up to Philly and modeling and I made a lot of friends through that and started to get more comfortable with myself.
SD: When did you decided that you wanted to pursue modeling?
GG: I guess around when I got to high school and I started really getting into fashion.

SD: Who are your favorite iconic supermodels?
GG: Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell
SD: What passions do you have other than modeling? Since I grew up by the beach, surfing has been something thats been a huge part of my life since before I can remember.
GG:My dad is a big surfer and he really pushed the whole lifestyle on us which I’m super thankful for. Going to the beach and spending the day in the ocean is probably my favorite way to unwind after a long week of working.

SD: Do you have a favorite project that you've worked on to date?
GG: I know this is a lame answer but I have so many favorites that I can’t really choose. They’re all special to me for different reasons.
SD: What would be your dream project to work on?
GG: Since most of my close friends are photographers or work in the fashion industry I think my dream project would be anything that involved getting to travel and work with them. Anything that makes work not feel like work.
